Purely heartfelt and inspirational!
Being a temporary resident of New Orleans, I see the little effort that is being put forth. It amazes me how these people (politicians, government, city officials, insurance companies) have there priorities so out of order. It has been two years (and counting...) and there are people who are still unable to return home. Progress is extremely slow, and it saddens me. There are so many families who have suffered during and after this horrible tragedy. I wish there were something I could do that would be beneficial to those who are enduring this struggle. You seem to be a very strong young woman, and I commend you on your strength and perseverance. ;-)

Ashanti,

Thanks for reminding people of the problems tied to all the state and federal "aid" programs. For me, you serve as inspiration for all that New Orleanians can and will do to reclaim home. The fact that you're balancing all the red tape with jobs, motherhood, and a full load of courses (and doing damn well in the courses!) should show others how hard people are working here to get back. Thanks for the story.
