I just put up a snippet on the about page but I figured I would go in a bit more depth here.
We (ITP students and faculty) thought one of the best ways we could the various groups working in New Orleans accomplish their goals was to create a way for them to get their message out or at the very least document some of their work.
Why Blogging?
Blogging can be an incredibly powerful means to both publish as well as invite people to “talk back” (through comments and linkbacks) and perhaps get involved. This website and the platform that it houses is an open and open source blogging platform called WordPress. This platform should allow for a rich variety of websites to be created with a high level of customization plus it has all of the features that have made blogs so powerful. In short, a blog is a personal content management and publishing software that allows for social interaction with visitors.
Video Blogging and Podcasting!
They are also becoming a great platform for publishing audio and video content as well as podcasts. Video Blogging (vlogging) has become a very visible medium and for good reason. This platform has a fairly easy to use video publishing platform that we built as part of it.
